What is the history and popularity of the app? is produced by Dobar Kod (a company that builds Linux based systems) and is built on a Zencoder video encoding platform. Zencoder claims “blazing fast video encoding for your app". There is no other history of statistical information available.

What are the differences to other apps?

Most video converters require multiple software downloads, including codecs and converters. Just finding the correct codec combination to play a file can be very confusing. Some files can require ten to twelve codecs just to play them. also hosts videos for a short time, is compatible with a large number of video formats, and has no input limits or subscription requirements. is compatible with over 100 video codecs and nearly that many audio codecs. The application uses the best codecs and optimizations from Zencoder so that users get very high quality output.

The biggest differentiator is the ease of use. Users can literally have a video converted with a few mouse clicks.

How does the web app look and feel to use?

The site asked for no information prior to allowing upload of video. During testing, a five minute .AVI video took nearly fifteen minutes to upload. Conversion then took approximately 5 more minutes after payment information was processed.
